Privacy Policy

1. Purpose and data controller

This Privacy Policy governs the processing of personal data carried out through this website. The data controller is Estudio Retamal y Venegas Abogados Limitada ("R&V Soluciones Legales" or "the Firm"), tax ID (RUT) 78.433.916-5, with its registered office at Hochstetter 1002, K Business Center, Oficina 708, Temuco, La Araucanía, Chile. Processing is governed by Law No. 19,628 (Ley N° 19.628) on the Protection of Private Life (in force until November 30, 2026) and by Law No. 21,719 (Ley N° 21.719) on the Protection of Personal Data, which applies in full from December 1, 2026 and creates the Personal Data Protection Agency.

2. Data we process

You are not required to provide any personal information to browse this site. We process personal data only when you choose to contact us:

  • Contact form: name, email, phone (optional) and the information you voluntarily include in your message.
  • Booking form: name, email, phone, the meeting format, the day and time you choose for the meeting, and the reason for the consultation.
  • Visit origin: the contact and booking forms also send the page through which you entered the site, the domain you came from (a search engine, for example) and, if you arrived through an ad or a campaign link, the name of that campaign. During your visit this is kept only in your browser, without cookies. Web3Forms also adds the IP address from which the form was sent.
  • Publication subscription: your email address, where you provide it in the subscription form on the publications listing and tick the authorization box.
  • Third-party data: if your message includes data about other people, you declare that you have their authorization or a legitimate basis to provide it.

As to browsing, the cookies this site sets on its own are only those strictly necessary for its operation, and we run no analytics or tracking. The contact page includes a Google map that loads from Google servers: you can review the details in our Cookie Policy.

3. Purpose and legal basis

  • Handling your inquiry: to respond to and follow up on the communication you send us and, where applicable, to provide our professional services. Legal basis: your consent when submitting the form.
  • Booking your meeting: to reserve the day and time you choose in the Firm's calendar and send you the invitation with the meeting details or, if the site cannot confirm it instantly, to confirm it by email or WhatsApp. Legal basis: your consent when submitting the booking form.
  • Sending publications: delivering the Firm's analysis and publications to the address you give us. Legal basis: your express consent, given by ticking the box on the subscription form, which is not pre-ticked. We will not add you to any distribution list without that consent, and you may withdraw it at any time by writing to our contact address, with no need to give a reason.

4. Retention

We retain your data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and, afterward, for the applicable statute of limitations periods. We adopt reasonable security measures to protect it.

5. Disclosure to third parties

We do not sell your data or disclose it to third parties, except where there is a legal obligation or where it is necessary to provide the service through the technology providers identified in the next section.

6. Providers and international transfers

This site relies on a small number of technology providers. We identify each of them so that you know precisely where your information travels:

  • Web3Forms, data processor. It handles the submission of the contact and booking forms. The data you type into them is transmitted to Web3Forms servers, located in the United States, and from there forwarded to the Firm's email. Web3Forms processes that data on the Firm's behalf and for the sole purpose of delivering your message to us.
  • Cloudflare, hosting and delivery of the site. The pages are served from its network. Like any network infrastructure, it processes the technical connection data required to deliver the content and to protect the service against abuse. When the site's live booking calendar is active, the site's server running on that network receives your name, email, the meeting format, and the day and time in order to record the meeting in the Firm's calendar, without storing them.
  • Google, the Firm's email and calendar. The Firm's email runs on Gmail, so the form messages that Web3Forms forwards, with everything you write in them, are received and stored on Google servers. When the site can confirm your meeting instantly, it also records the meeting in the Firm's Google calendar with your name, your email (as a guest), the meeting format, and the day and time, and Google sends you the invitation from the Firm's account, which the Firm's lawyers also receive in their own calendars; for a video call, Google also generates the Google Meet link. The reason for the consultation and your phone number go into neither the calendar nor the invitation. If the site cannot confirm the meeting instantly (for example, because the calendar does not respond), nothing is recorded in the calendar and the Firm confirms your appointment by email or WhatsApp. To offer you only open times, the site checks that calendar for the times already taken, without sending Google any of your data. Google processes this data under the terms of service of the Firm's account, on servers that may be located outside Chile, including in the United States.
  • Google Maps, map embedded on the contact page. When that map loads, your browser connects directly to Google servers. The details of what this involves are set out in our Cookie Policy.
  • mindicador.cl, economic indicator lookups (UTM and UF). The assessed-value calculator in the land title regularization section looks up the UTM value for a given date, and the debt diagnostic tool looks up the day's UF value. They are read-only queries: they send no personal data, none of the figures you enter and none of your answers, because the calculations are resolved entirely in your browser.

The United States has no declaration of an adequate level of protection, so submitting the forms and recording the meeting in the calendar constitute an international transfer of data. For Web3Forms and Cloudflare, we use providers that offer safeguards equivalent to those required by Law No. 21,719; the transfer that takes place through the Firm's Google accounts rests on the consent you give when submitting the forms. In every case, we limit the transferred data to what is strictly necessary to reply to you and book your meeting. 7. Automated decisions

Your data is not subject to decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects or significantly affect you.

8. Your rights

You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, cancellation (erasure), objection and portability, as well as withdraw the consent granted, by writing to contacto@rvsolucioneslegales.cl. With the entry into force of Law No. 21,719, you may also file a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Agency.

9. Professional confidentiality

All information provided in the context of a consultation or advice is protected by the professional secrecy that governs the practice of law in Chile.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect legal, technical or operational changes. The version in force will always be the one published on this page.
